Yaye Amtyh Osunbunmi Asili is a Howard University Alumnus with degrees in Black Political Science / Africana Studies with a minor in African and African-American Psychology. As a student activist, Amtyah was involved in the following organizations
as both a co-founding and active member; the Students First Leadership Council, Students Protecting Our Own Knowledge (SPOOKS), the Howard University Food Recovery Network, the Ubuntu Movement, and the Kilombolas African Educating Initiative.She also participated in organizing initiatives in Chicago around gun and gang violence, and in Atlanta around education reform. Amtyah was trained as an organizer through the Center for Third World Organizing’s Movement Activist Apprenticeship Program. Independently, she completed a study on Afro-Mexican ancestry, attitudes and beliefs in Oaxaca, Mexico. Amtyah currently serves as a National Political Organizer for Communications Workers of America and continues to study, work and live for Abibifahodie (African liberation).
